Title: Nintendo's Explanation For Limiting Switch Cloud Saves Is Baffling
Post by: Æon on Feb 25, 2019, 12:23 PM
So this article is from September but I think the points are still relevant and I don't think this topic gets enough discussion:

For me personally, savegame backups are a major reason I'm paying for the online service, so any game that involves significant time/effort investment but doesn't support cloud saves is reason for me to not buy the game. I've certainly not bought either of the Let's Go games, and while I'm looking forwards to Animal Crossing and the proper Pokemon game this year, if they don't support cloud saves I doubt I'll bother with them. There's just too much time investment and too many things that can cause your Switch to fail for me to want to risk losing all my effort.

What are your thoughts?

I would be gutted if Pokemon S&S doesn't have cloud saves. I know their reasoning for it with Let's Go but they gotta figure it out before the S&S drops.

No cloud saves in Sword & Shield would be sufficient for me to not buy it.
